May 6, 2017 - Still needs more time. Nose - gun smoke, candied orange, lemon. Palate - oak a bit obtrusive, though fine notes of roast nuts and vanilla, lemon zest, lanolin, spice. Fruit - taut lemon, orange rind, some apricot. Lots of acid. Supreme body with oily mouthfeel. Finish is a bit abrupt.

A bit hard to make sense of this wine. Elements don't quite knit together, perhaps as fruit doesn't seem to come to the party. With more time in the carafe, more white nectarine and white peach came through.

I think this wine might have the pedigree, acidity and structural elements to be much better in 5-10 years. But on the other hand it's not that long so I don't think it will ever reach greatness.

April 28, 2017 - Another disappointing bottle of this producer.

Lang!

April 1, 2017 - This has really tightened up and is now a classic, strict Corton-Charlemagne that is supremely youthful. It had a suggestion of lanolin and lavender to the aromatic profile and fruit flavours were of the white peach persuasion. There's plenty of minerality and it is an '09 of great energy.

March 17, 2017 - Deeper color. The nose is ripe; showing aromas of citrus, pineapple, minerals, white flowers and a hint of oak. This is full bodied on the palate with excellent concentration and wonderful finesse. The very long finish features a resounding mineral element. A fairly classic examples that overcomes the vintage. Wow!
