May 18, 2016 - Light yellow with nose of candied tropical fruit and pear. On palate, reminded me of the ripe 2009 bdx white tried, which were conc, sweet but lack the vibrancy. this however, has a steely touch that acts as a balance to the rich mouth feel. Med to long finish and best to go with food.

February 29, 2016 - Nice minerality and citrus. Finish was quite long. Young and fresh but drank well

February 20, 2016 - Tropical fruit, peach, apricot and citrus on the nose. Touch of matchstick. Full, rich and round on the palate.

December 12, 2015 - HDH Auction (Tru - Chicago, IL): I don't think I loved this wine as much as others did, but it was still very good. The sweetness of the wine was the big marker for me, and, in a perfect world, would have liked it a bit more acidic. Great fruit concentration, though. Despite the less-than-perfect acidic backbone, it still had really nice elegance.

December 12, 2015 - HDH auction tasting at Tru; 12/10/2015-12/12/2015 (Chicago, IL): I think this needs to be served quite chilled, since this is definitely on the fatter end of things. A nice touch of matchstick on the nose. Ripe and fleshy, but with very nice tension thanks to some very prominent acidity. Sweet white fruits and very judicious oak use here, even though this is clearly oaked up the wazoo. I have to admit, I've really liked all the young Martrays I've tasted. I think it might be time to put some in my cellar.
