November 3, 2014 - Wow! WOTD for me out of a line up that included a Ravenau, Clos St. Hune, Dagennau, Pichler, ZH. You need to give it about 1 hour for it to unwind and show its complexity and amazing dept. Truly special wine.

September 13, 2014 - A wonderful Martray clearly requiring 3-5 years to begin unfolding the subtle complexities and teasing out the tropical notes from the denser core presented now( but risking premox if you wait). Nevertheless an almost regal white burgundy, and while less complex than great Montrachet, it is a contender for a great burgundy experience even now. Expect to sense retrained, nice honeyed viscosity, butterscotch with lemon, and a persistent hint of vanilla and more citrus tones.

May 25, 2014 - Friday night wines at Thierry's place (Wellington, New Zealand): Colour light gold. A pure bouquet of white florals, lemon, pear and brioche. On palate, ripe and rich, with serious structure, breadth and power (we were picking the vintage as 2009 or 2005). However, the wine also has beautiful balance, finesse and elegance, with very good acids. Oak is present on both bouquet and palate, but not, for me, obtrusively. Quite forward, but obviously young, this Corton is a 20+ year wine. The flavours were citric, greengage, peaches and pears and croissant, with honey and a strong mineral backbone. A long wine, with a dry finish. It needs 5 years as a minimum, hopefully it'll survive premox.

March 22, 2014 - I took this to a friends 3/22/14 Chardonnay tasting. It had a rich, deep, clean and gorgeous bouquet of herb, mint, concrete, nut, pear, citrus, and bread aromas. The palate was rich, deep, dense and dry with flavors of bread, pineapple, lime, pear and minerals. It was truly outstanding and our group’s number 2. My score was 92+...our groups average score of 92.5.
