  January 22, 2014 - As promised, consumed the last bottle. Although it was on its way out, I really enjoyed this. See previous formal notes for all the nuances. What I really appreciate about this bottle is that it is an honest expression of the vintage (might be my favorite for this wine) and of the vineyard, which is certainly worth a visit if you are up there at the top of the Mayacamas. This was the rare wine that improved as it approached room temperature.
  
  The Fisher family is inspiring, a true American success story which serves to remind the fruits of hard work, determination, and spirit. The Hidden Terrace Vineyard is small, steep, and high up the Sonoma side of the mountain, behind the famed Wedding Vineyard. I don't think that they declared a vintage of this in 2010. The wine made me contemplate a thought I had earlier in the day, that wine is better if you know the people and the place.

  September 23, 2013 - Unbelievable nose of red mountain fruit, olive brine, and plum. The flavor and body does not compare to previous bottles, though. It feels a little fallen apart, with oak dominating the fruit. Will withhold rating, but will also not withhold my last bottle from being drunk soon.

  March 12, 2013 - This is a great syrah, from a vineyard that is always one of my favorites. Not a value or a QPR. Great purity of red fruit, leading to a wonderful balance of mixed pepper and raspberry. Above all, this is very tasty, and will improve over the next 3-5 years...AM

  May 1, 2012 - No formal notes, but shows more fruit, less heat, and better balance than recently consumed bottles. Not as good as the impossible-to-find 2006, but not too far off either.
