March 19, 2016 - 80% of a previously CV'd bottle opened but not decanted ~ 4 hours prior to following over 90 mins. Rich and lush dark fruit, dominate, with lavender, fine tannins facilitating a 30+ second finish over a satin-coated palate. Wish I wasn't writing this after-the-fact, as this was an impressive wine that's worthy of more than I'm writing. With adequate air this is enjoyable today, but this will undoubtedly have a long and enjoyable future.

February 23, 2016 - Vibrant glass-staining purple. The nose alone justified the price of admission with a cornucopia of potent floral elements, black and blue fruits and a hint of cedar. Not a block-buster as far as Hillside Selects go but excellent balance, decent length and persistency. Enjoyed with an assortment of charcuterie and hard cheeses. This is at the beginning of its drinking window and should continue to improve over the next 15 years or so.

February 12, 2016 - Decanted. First glass, this was tight and the nose was faint. Strong tannins and long finish. Ager, too young. Walked away and came back 2 hours later. Wow. Wine had totally transformed. Asian spice, symphony on the nose. Balanced, silky. I'll hold my other bottle for several more years - probably another 5-10 years from peak.
