February 25, 2017 - This was the 11th wine tasted tonight among a dozen others. This was my WOTN tonight as 2 others agreed but overall outvoted by 4 others who preferred 2007 Ridge Monte Bello.
Big brooding modern cult cab. Tremendous aromatics of graphite, blackberries and earth. Velvety mouth feel with tremendous fruit from the start to the long long finish (+ 1 minute). One of the great wines I have experienced.

February 18, 2017 - Should have decanted, but only opened up for an hour in advance. Amazing nose of dark fruits and classic CA cab just jumps out of the glass. Rich, viscous, waves of blue/black fruit, tobacco, dark chocolate, some oak. Definitely extracted, but I loved it. Tannins still there and were a little bit drying on the finish. Long life ahead of it and will definitely decant and let it open up more next time.

January 4, 2017 - Aroma just shot out of the bottle when opened, decanted for 90 minutes, wonderful bouquet, great with steak, and a very long finish. Lots going on here, blueberries, currents, blackberries, and hints of chocolate, licorice, and mint. Very impressive, and should improve with age.

December 17, 2016 - Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Tasted double blind alongside Schrader 2012 LPV. Impossible to mistake as anything other than California Cabernet, and while some people adore this style of wine, I found it too fleshy and flashy without the gravitas and fundamental concentration of the Schrader in the next glass.

August 21, 2016 - No decant, but consumed over 4 hours. Dark fruit, cassis, plum ... Tobacco, licorice, and a bit of chocolate on the finish. Long soothing finish on the palate. First class.
