April 11, 2016 - Deep orange color. When these wines are young the fruit seems to taste incongruously fresh relative to the color, but at this age it has caught up and the flavors are deep and not especially fruity either. There is also a touch of fino sherry character to it. It does better as it warms up and probably would have been better still with a few hours' more air. As it stands it was okay playing the role of a wine with some depth when red wine just won't do, but standing on its own I can't say I like it at this age better than I did on release.

December 22, 2015 - Opened yesterday. Today it's drinking beautifully. Drinking it in Gravner's own hand-blown goblet/glass. Super soft with the lightest, tightest acidity. Butterscotch, cream, almondy bitterness. Slight oxidation is more on the nose. There's no way I can stop myself from drinking the entire bottle tonight.

July 5, 2015 - This wasn't showing much, and was hard to judge. Certainly a fine wine, and with a pleasant, classy oxidation, and almond and marine notes, but it wasn't showing much depth or exuberance, and maybe something one has to spend time with.

March 29, 2015 - Similarly wonderful experience as my last bottle. Incredible color of copper, almost like blood orange juice. Notes of apricot, bearded iris, sweet spices, and a flutter of mint. Wonderful acidity and tannin structure.
