December 8, 2014 - Exuberant expression from Châteauneuf, The 2010 Pegau Réservée is under serious aromatic evolution. When it's finally there, must achieve something around perfection, if there is such thing. Rich, highly concentrated dark violet red. At first contact, the purest and deepest bouquet of dry flowers emerge. Raspberries, cherries, violets and cocoa notes over a profound woodlike base, along with olives, minerals and leather. It's all here, animal scents and distinct herbal tones, such as basil. Though this is still very unstable and quite muted, the richness and purity of palate is undeniable. The gentlest touch of espresso, cocoa and discreet spices, sustained by a lively and robust structure, projects greatness and potential. Long and serene on the buttery, spicy finish. With a sealed fate, this CDP is a reward for the patient ones . 96-98

October 17, 2014 - New York Wine Experience Trip; 10/14/2014-10/21/2014 (New York City, NY): This deep ruby Châteauneuf is a blend of 80% Grenache, 6% Syrah and 4% Mourvèdre, with the remaining 10% being made up by the multitude of other grapes allowed in the appellation. The nose and palate deliver a magical combination of dark bramble fruits, fig, garrigue, cocoa, earth and pipe tobacco. Full-bodied, freshly acidic, seamlessly alcoholic and with medium fine-grained tannins, it stays lively throughout the middle and closes with a lengthy finish. Classic quality here! This Pégau is already drinking beautifully and I doubt that it will shut down. Enjoy it over the next 15 years. Drink now-2029.

October 9, 2014 - Agree with KPB, drinking very well for such a young wine. Lots of blackberry, cassis, garrigue, as he said, but I had a white pepper note on the finish.

September 29, 2014 - Ahh Pegau. One of the few producers in the Rhone that makes wine that I still enjoy drinking. Too many are making wines that taste like port with huge fruit and alcohol. The '10 Pegau is textbook with cherry and raspberry fruit, leather, spice and just a touch of barnyard. No kirsch here and only 14% alcohol. Once I finish my '04 Pegau's, which have been drinking wonderfully for years and years, I will move on to the '07's and then '10's. This is a multi-case purchase if you are a Pegau drinker.

September 5, 2014 - Very dark, fragrant wine showing extremely well for such a young a Pegau. Aromatic ally complex: ripe blackberry fruit, toffee, garrigue, licorice, leather. Long finish, balanced, clean. A great wine!
