June 13, 2021 - Thought this had aged beautifully, lovely mid pallet and long lingering finish.

January 12, 2017 - Took this bottle on a trip to FL.
It was good, straightforward red cherry fruit and a hint of spice, probably nearing the end of it's drinking window.
    Drink now.

December 28, 2015 - Simple, as in "simply delicious". Quite a difference in bottles this one to the one I had 6 months ago.

This is still not the most complex pinot in the world, but this bottle was hitting on all cylinders re: pleasurable drinking. Good fruit, without the "muddiness" I found in the prior bottle. I wonder if perhaps bottle variation, or serving variation - I served this one straight from the cellar, relatively cool. I don't think this has legs to go much further - drink soon.

June 16, 2015 - No detailed notes. My wife, a fan of delicate Burgs, surprisingly enough loved this. I did not.

I found this to be a bit "one note" and simplistic. A bit of muddy depth without a notion of offsetting complexity. Drinkable - yes, and pleasant enough if not particularly compelling at this stage in its evolution. My sense is that this might be a bit past its peak drinking window, with both fruit and structure on the wane. Which is disappointing since apparently I have another 5 bottles floating around somewhere in the cellar.

April 19, 2015 - My last bottle. Noticed my note from 2013 regarding how light it was then. Planned for it to be light this time and so it turned out to be an enjoyable bottle to start the evening with. Bright nose of cherry and some minerality. Flavors follow with a light body and pleasant medium finish. 90pts.

April 19, 2015 - Very lean at this point with fruit dismissed to a little plum but still some loamy terroir and garrique

February 4, 2015 - For an "entry level" Copain, this is outstanding. Bright cherry, red currant, dill, and hint of earth. It is not as rich, complex, and structured as their other pinots, but for the price, this is wonderful. A great QPR. Nice acidity. Some other tasting notes suggest this is at peak, or at least not going to improve much with age. I agree that it is very drinkable now, but I do think (based on how much richer this bottle is on day 2) that another 2-3 yrs, and maybe up to 5, will benefit.
