March 21, 2014 - Smooth on opening; soft tannins; minimal spice; good balance and complexity; good finish.

March 9, 2014 - The most disjointed of the recent Turleys we've popped. Seems to be on a downward trend with some browning in the glass. Beautiful legs and viscosity, however. Tart berries, woody notes. Slight spritz throughout. Even with air over the course of the evening it doesn't come together.

December 1, 2013 - Highly extracted. Nicely jammy fruit, but not overly so. Balanced by enough acid to make it more than just something you'd put on toast. I'd give it another year or two.

November 25, 2013 - Really nice zin. I noticed a buttered popcorn nose on this one in addition to the typical turley zin fruit and spice notes.

September 1, 2013 - First time experience with Turley Zinfandel, the winemaker's reputation is unparalleled in CA zinfandel circles. Gave it a brief decant and enjoyed with smoked beef ribs. Perfect food and wine pairing, the wild berry flavors, vanilla, and the black pepper/spiciness of the wine complimented by the smokey, dry rubbed flavors and fatty texture of the ribs. Drinking beautifully. Although a bit pricy for a bottle of Zin, this is clearly high quality, upper echelon CA Zin at its finest.
