December 6, 2012 - Barolo 1964, A Horizontal (Roberson Wine, South Ken, London): Very maderised unfortunately.
A bit of trivia though... Apparently Ratti is quoted on his website saying that it all started in 1965 when he moved to Barolo yet here we have a 1964 that he also mentions as his first wine released. Maybe residual wine in the vats when he bought the domain or just another little wine mystery. Photo added for proof :)

July 28, 2007 - The best bottle of the lot so far.

February 25, 2007 - High neck ulage - something unusual for the 42 years old wine. The bottom of the cork was disintegrating, but the wine was A OK, brick orange peel color, plenty of refreshing acidity and no unusual smells. Glad I have 2 more bottles left.

February 4, 2007 - The cork hasn't survived and just crushed and almost pulverized. The wine opened with difficulties, and the nose of dusty desert. I was preparing for the worst. In 15 minutes the dust has blown off and wine was definately alive one. First sip made me believe it was over the top of the hill, but in 30 minutes it opened up with still vibrant fruit, leather, porcini mushroom and was quite delightful wine. 40 seconds finish, sweet tannins and this baby is still very far from it's eventual death. One of the best $100 I spent on a bottle of aged wine.
