September 24, 2014 - Drinking very nicely tonight with a little splash decant. My first taste of this in a couple of years the dark red and blue fruits have settled down and have shed abit of their youthful exuberance. There's abit of earth, tobacco, sassafras and violets. Just a hint of white pepper shows up on the mid palate and the finish is a little on the shy side. The consensus tonight seems to be that, while quite enjoyable, this bottle was abit on the one dimensional side.

September 13, 2014 - Nice bottle. Also drank alongside '08 Aubert Reuling Pinot. Aubert won! Still enjoyed by all.

    Tasted non blind.

Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of thistle, black berries and black cherries. Flavors of black berries, black cherries and minerals. Medium acidity, medium tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink now with air or continue to hold.

August 24, 2014 - The color is dark garnet, translucent and brilliantly hued. The smells are sweet dark cherries, peppery and sweet tar notes, sassafras, floral notes, rhubarb, and raspberry pie. The tastes are cherry cola, sweet spices, brown sugar and cinnamon, strawberry, anise, olive, and damp earthy leaves. The tannins are sheer and fine and the finish is lengthy, fruity and refreshing thanks to the acidity. In a word, delicious.
