Community Tasting Notes 4

  • Old School Fan Does not like this wine: 83 points

November 17, 2014 - Agree with previous notes. I think I waited too long. Dark red, almost brown color. No nose other than a bit of an astringency. The palate was completely flat without any noticeable fruit as if the wine were corked. No secondary notes could break through the harshness of the palate. After an hour in the decanter, some sweet fruit emerged, but still there was a backbone of astringency.

January 24, 2011 - Brick colored, a little oxidized. Past it's prime, maybe by five years... but still could see the structure in this, would have been a very nice wine if consumed sooner.

August 21, 2010 - Sadly this wine was corked!

August 3, 2007 - Medium colour depth, garnet to brick. Aromas of cigar / tobacco, anis / licorice with hints of strawberry. Medium dry medium bodied, balanced and nice in the mouth with distinct aftertaste of licorice. Moderately tannic - drinking quite well now. Nice wine.
