March 8, 2014 - Broke out the 98, 99, 00 ad 01 vintages of this wine, and I have to say it was the most disappointing vertical I've ever tasted. None of these wines showed well. All were on some level bitter and tannic without the wonderful fruit and power I have experienced in prior tastings of these wines.

    September 19, 2012 - Magical. Just. Magical.

One of four Priorats we had tonight, and this one showed us all just how IT is done...

On the pour, looked like a brand new baby. Could never have guessed the age by looking. Dark and lustful purple.

On the nose incredible complexity with menthol, mint, eucalyptus, and extraordinary berries, and Rowntree fruit pastel -type concentrates.

Beautifully cohesive on the palate, with elegant acid and minerality and a finish that just wouldn't stop.

Oh wow. How am I going to keep my hands off the remaining bottles in the brood?...

August 27, 2012 - Very nice wine that drank really well post a 30-minute decant. Taut with the red fruits and fine tannins providing nice tension on the palate. Will likely keep for a another few years but no harm in drinking up right now either. Went really well with some Bellota ham.

February 5, 2012 - Delicious ripeness and nuance, served, by mistake, with a fish course. It compimented the preparation in an elegant way. One of the stars of the President's dinner, better than the 1994 Haut Brion.

September 22, 2011 - A total knock-out wine. Was last in line-up of the reds for the night, and held its own without a blink.

Wish I'd taken proper notes at that point, but was busy enjoying every nuance and essence of this. So rich, so complex, so balanced.

    Fantastic
