March 15, 2020 - Still so dense. In feel and look. Lovely cool mountain Cab character. If anything this still showed a bit asleep but I doubt it. I say that because it didn't show much complexity. I doubt it needs much more time to find itself though if you have well stored bottles I wouldn't be in a rush. Only slightly faded on night two. These sorts of bottles take me away. Good stuff.

September 6, 2015 - One spicy meatball. Black-Crimson and rich but balanced with a great tangy note of complexity. Won't lead you to a new philosophy or even a new place but it will remind you that aged cabs can be terrific fun. Structured enough for winter drinking but perfect with grilled meats and graceful enough to go a round with grilled chicken. A bargain still.

August 12, 2015 - Grand larceny, wine 3. Mild, dusty tannin. Red fruit and herbs. Loads of wood. Back to my earlier experiences - a bit heavy-handed oak and simple. Yummy.

August 12, 2015 - Grand larceny commemoration wine #2. Red fruit, subtle wood notes, but if spice. Essentially no tannin left. Pretty. Starting the downswing.

June 12, 2015 - Medium red. Great resolved wine. Still shows some red fruit, cassis. Delicious and at it's peak.

May 11, 2015 - Drinking superbly now, with layers of ripe red and dark fruit, cedar wood, pencil lead, and some herbal elements all coming together on a medium weight frame that feels very polished with the tannin mostly resolved. There's surprisingly bright acidity beneath that gives the flavours plenty of lift, and good length.

May 11, 2015 - Beautiful nose of graphite, red fruit, flowers. Great acidity; very little tannin left. Drinking very well; nose alone worth the price of admission, Drink now.

November 18, 2013 - Beautifully aged and still vibrant bordeaux blend. Delightfully musty, barnyardy, leathery nose. Balanced on the palate, dark fruits, spice and cola. Perhaps a year or two past its peak but lovely bottle and paired wonderfully with rabbit.

July 23, 2011 - Dark ruby with a slightly lighter edge. Spicy nose with notes of red fruits. Full, fairly primary and lively palate with spices, some chocolate and black fruits. Feels more like a 2001 northern rhone than a 1994 ridge! Needs more time...

February 19, 2010 - Benefited from two hours in the decanter. Nose of violets, iron, berry, and damp earth which is almost corky. Palate still has vibrant acidity, black currants, plum, spice, and a dry finish.
