Drinking well. I would say it is probably peaking. Very little acid and tannins. Seems quite integrated. Ink, blackberry, big fruit without being too jammy. Dark chocolate, hint of cinnamon, very surprised it’s 100% Syrah. A banana cream liquor aspect I have on tasted on a an SQN in the past. Excellent pre-dessert wine. Very impressed with this wine. Dried meat, chocolate covered raspberry. Long finish. Big fan of this wine! Great mouthfeel. Even a hint of vegetal. A bit of softness. Lacks a bit of complexity, but I did not expect that from a New World Syrah. I am very impressed this hits all the things I love about new world. -

January 21, 2022 - I open the first of the two of these about 2 and 1/2 years ago, almost 3 years ago. My note sucked a little bit at that time, probably because I couldn't remember ipso facto! I would say that this wine had a very mature purple and black roasted fruit profile. Not so sure how it really tasted in 2019, but it was definitely ready to go as a pop and pour now! Nose of roasted black and purple fruit. Violets and wildflowers. Very soft and rounded front. Slid into the darker free profile to the middle and finish. Finished with vanilla, creme de cocoa, mature roasted black fruits, figs. Still actually rather stiff tannin on this one which was a surprise. Really thought that this was going to be a little softer on the finish and maybe a little more integrated than it had to be 2.5 years ago. This one could still benefit from 5 to 7 years of additional cellar aging, but really is quite a fantastic PNP wine.
