January 1, 2016 - Last drank this when it first came out 2-3 years ago. At time, very tannic and I was concerned with "what have I done" as I had bought a case. Now, following a 2 hour decant, a different wine. The tannins have softened considerably. Initially thin in the mid palate. No fruit. By 3 hours after decant, it was much better. The fruit came out, the mid palate filled in and the tannins even softer. However, there was a persistent bitterness in the finish that got better, but did not disappear. I will try again in 1-2 years, definitely a 3 hour decant.

June 15, 2015 - An incredibly rich, fresh, rocky, earthy, and peppery (assorted peppers) offering. Lively, bright and concentrated yet remarkably focused and precise.

April 20, 2015 - Decanted for 4 hours before enjoying with lightly smoked Chuck Eye roast from the Big Green Egg. It had only just begun to open by then. The prominent notes were cassis, graphite and a real 'leafiness' plus some pencil shavings and smoke. It got much better on the second night. For the $15 price, this is very good value indeed. I wouldn't be in any hurry to open it — should have 5 or so good years ahead of it. Not the longest finish, but everything is in place and quite well-integrated.

April 17, 2015 - Fruity inviting bouquet. Well balanced with creme de cassis graphite and licorice notes, mellow tannins and modest alcohol. Short but pleasant finish.
