May 2, 2014 - Still needs some time. Give it a 2-3 years and it should be great. Slight minerality to it, though that may be due to the tannins.

March 14, 2014 - This wine typifies the 2010 Bordeaux vintage

Serious dark purple to the eye - big legs - 15% plus

Lovely nose, though a little closed - cranberry and blackberry

On the palate, still young and less approachable than the 2009. Excellent big fruit, but with chalky, finely grained tannins, coating the teeth, due to its youth. Same cranberry and blackberry, but also with hint of vanillin and menthol. Very mineral, with tannins and pleasing, persistent acid competing for first place over the fruit.

Finish is excellent - long and bright.

I'd try another in 3 years, then in 5 years.. Looks very promising.

January 22, 2014 - Inky dark purple color...licorice, dark fruits, a bit of meatiness, earth, and dry but fine tannins make the palate. This is a big, bold wine...but I'm not sure I'd call it modern, because it doesn't have that kind of sweetness. I'd start opening these now because its good...and while its big now, I'm not sure this has the structure and middle stuffing of fruit to make it much past "medium" age.

December 14, 2013 - Popped and poured. This is a very dark purple, mouth-staining wine. The nose carries overtones of a sweet chocalate stick against a backdrop of dark crushed fruits. The wine tastes ripe, extracted, and almost grapey; the flavors expand over time. This leaves a slightly tannic impression and should benefit from a few years in bottle. Nevertheless, this is tasty and enjoyable now. 90 points.

June 18, 2013 - Needed about two hours of decanting in order to bring down the heat. Color is very deep, and the overall profile is well balanced. Not overly fruity and hints of dark fruits and tobacco. Given the high alcohol content, very surprising the balance that was achieved. Definitely a great value, but will need a year or two to settle out the tannins.
