January 16, 2024 - Nose with red fuits and berries, very discreet anise and bitter roses.
Mouth with red fruits, earthy and good tannins (medium +).
Still pretty high acidity, when fruit and tannins are taking into consideration. High alcohol percent as well perhaps feels higher than actual. Food wine absolutely.
Pairs good with beef, but not a big weekend wine.

February 4, 2023 - A well and elegantly aged Gigondas that comes together with very good balance. Some leftover acidity, milk chocolate creaminess and residual alcohol create a great companion for a sub-zero winter afternoon!

February 19, 2021 - Developing beautifully - spicy fruit and exotic nose, round and silky on the palate with supple dark fruit and earth. Nice.

December 16, 2019 - Must be an off bottle because the bottle I had earlier in the years was fine. This one is completely gone: prunes, oxidized, perfect for the sinc.

February 1, 2019 - Quite good, authentic Gigondas - much more so than the Hautes Garrigues bottling. On tertiary notes, garrigue, some animal notes. The fruit is dark and there’s tobacco/smoke as well. I don’t think this will improve further from here.

March 20, 2017 - Weekly tasting group RWP #249: Rhône; Gigondas (@ VD): The bouquet shows a fully mature wine with tea, still some cherries, plums and cinnamon. On the palate some kirsch and pepper, but also rust, chocolate, autumn forest and mushrooms. Good acidity and soft tannin. Still ok, but don't wait too long. 88 - 89

July 13, 2015 - Some rubber & iodine at first, gummy Grenache fruit that is almost Australian in tone and texture. Soft, carob, charcoal, has more herbal spice as it airs and seems more Chateauneuf-ish. Good.

May 9, 2015 - My last bottle of 12, and I have loved everyone them, but it was time for this one to go. Served blind for Mr. Pacalet at dinner, he preferred this over Pegau 98 and Papet 98; It is light, Burgundian with just hints of heat showing at the end, but otherwise surely a joy, strawberry-fruit, pinot-like character that shows, why the Burgundians used to come to Gigondas for help. Will keep, but certainly mature now.

July 28, 2012 - OC4PokerXIV: Alsace vs Germany (and dinner) (Wine Cellar Club, Irvine, CA): Slow-O 3 hours, served non-blind at CT offline dinner. Bottle, label and cork all in near perfect condition. In fact, as this is #11 of an original case, I can't recall any of the corks coming out so new, soft and lightly winesoaked. The cork suggested this was going to show youthfully, the appearance and nose confirmed it. Bright aromas of raspberry, spice, garrigue, thyme, and hot galets. Substantial lift and very fresh acidity. Absolutely at peak. Everything in balance on the palate, with tannins and fruit gaining substantial weight with airtime. During the 90 minutes this was being enjoyed, the complexity and elegance factors seemed unlimited in their upward trajectory. One bottle remains that I will likely enjoy in the next 2-3 years. Drink thru 2018, 14,5% abv, recommended
