  May 10, 2022 - Deep color, blackberries, black cherries, and licorice in the nose. Black fruits in the flavor. Rich, concentrated and well balanced with a long finish.

  February 14, 2019 - The cork pulled flawlessly. There was a slug of sludge just beneath the cork.
  
  The wine is opaque with a dense purple hue with no browning on the edges even though the wine is 15 years old.
  
  The nose opened over an hour from tightly wound blackberry and dusky tannins to a more mellow earthiness and layers of loam, blackberry, black cherry.
  
  The flavor is explosive with dark berries, crazy good acidity, tobacco, cedar box, earthy brambles, sorghum notes on a finish that lasts forever. Super jammy and deep fruit. The aftertaste leaves a touch of fruit, brown sugar, coffee in your nose as you breathe.
  
  The wine has evolved and developed over the last 3 hours. It is a brilliant wine.

  April 29, 2012 - As much as I have enjoyed Gemstone over the years, I would say this one was a little disappointing. This should have been at its peak, but I found the mouthfeel rather short on the outside. Plenty of red and black fruit, but it was just off its typical game. Just didn't give the typical Gemstone performance of elegance and beauty.
