February 27, 2023 - Appearance is medium ruby with modest bricking and medium sediment.

Bouquet is rich, ripe and oaky. Cherry cola, dried herbs, earth, ripe blackberry, cedar and tobacco.

Palate is bold and tannic. Balanced.

Sappy flavours of blackberry, blueberry and leather. Excellent length.

Drinking well and in a very good spot. Those that like tertiary flavours can let this mature for another decade.

April 17, 2022 - This wine ebbed and flowed over the course of the day. On opening - somewhat grippy, then went through a mute phase. About 90 minutes in showed at its best - mature burg with a spine to it, if a slight hint of decrepitude, and then fell apart. One of a mixed auction lot that has surprised and delighted in equal measure.

May 4, 2012 - Double decanted one hour, then decanted for service. Outstanding floral and berry nose, pure red fruits and minerals on the palate, fresh and vigourous, with strong sous bois notes developing after an hour. Served with various dishes at Fleur, Las Vegas. This is drinking well. No hurry to drink my one remaining.

February 25, 2011 - Drinking beautifully right now. Fresh, floral-tinged red fruits and berries with the start of developing leathery and savoury earthy elements in a very elegant, lightweight package. Delicious.
