  March 13, 2014 - Nice rendition of a grape more often seen in a blend. More tannin than a Barbera, but stil lighter than a Texas Sangiovese or a Chianti Classico. Cherry on the forefront with some raspberry/strawberry following. Nice match to the spagetti and marinara we paired with it.

  September 18, 2013 - Pleasant tasting medium/light Italian style red from Texas High Plains fruit. Developing some additional depth since last tasting in 2012. Bright cherry and strawberry are dominant flavors. Excellent companion to pasta dishes with marinara sauce. A pleasant surprise since we sort of forgot about this one in the cellar!

  April 1, 2012 - Very enjoyable. Light in body but not without some complexity. Opens up after a few minutes in the glass. Enough tannin to improve the mouthfeel as compared to other light red italian wines, which we judged to be a plus. Went well with Italian salmon with marinara, but also salmon with a lemon/caper cream sauce. Our first experience with unblended Dolchetto, so we are comparing to similar weight Barberas and blends with other Italian reds.

  June 12, 2011 - A lighter style red with cranberry and raspberry flavors. Great wine for lighter fare summertime foods. More body than a dry rose so it goes well with sandwiches, grilled chicken, light Italian food. A bit oaky but for $15 a nice summer quaffer.
