November 17, 2023 - From 2 bottles at TdA, this wine had a light gold color and clear rims. The high intensity nose generated fresh apricot, citrus, petroleum jelly, and mineral notes.
In the mouth, this wine developed extremely well and was rich and ripe with huge length. It seemed to be bigger and richer than all the other high-power whites on the table!
When this wine has been stored well it is a great white that can power to awesome heights with air.
November 14, 2023 - Nose of diesel, flowers, rich citrus peel. What a thing this wine was on the palate. So beautifully textured from midpalate. A savory and rich fruited profile that came in lifted and just went higher until it slowly dropped of with a really interesting herbal and savory finish. The acidity was bright, precise and so well balanced with the richness of the fruit. Simply gorgeous!
March 6, 2022 - When I opened it at home I was confident this was a sterling example of this great vintage of Hune due to its expressive bouquet of waxy stone fruit and potent concentration of old Riesling fruit. Somehow though a couple hours later it seemed more diffuse and less distinctive. I am wondering if the rather humid and stuffy air suffocated it although two more potent red wines later on were fine. Judgment reserved.
February 13, 2022 - Tasted blind, this wine had. medium deep yellow center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose generated petroleum jelly, white stone, apples, dried apricots, minerals, and honey notes.
In the mouth, this wine was rich and ripe with incredible balance and integration. It also had firm acidity and great length.
This bottle must have been in perfect condition as the wine was spectacular. While this was in the zone after a few hours in a decanter, it should last for at least a decade. That said, please note that I find some bottle variation with this wine.
October 24, 2021 - perfekt till ostdesert. frächt men med en underbar sötma. kan drickas i riktigt stora klunkar
September 18, 2021 - 18ct. golden color, starting to turn amber. Nose of honey and ripe pears
On the palate it is very intense with, again, notes of honey, and a searing intensity; Some kerosene developing in the background, mouth-filling and with lots of stuff on the middle palate (which was missing with most wines tasted yesterday.)
Fully ripe and close to perfection. went superbly well with the lobster served alongside since I could not find any adequate and suitably aged white Burgundy.
September 5, 2021 - Chez Zim: Grapefruit, full bodied, rich, lot of dry extract, very long, still youthful after 30 years. Great wine!
April 19, 2021 - Full amber/gold-colored in the glass. There is an oxidative note on the nose like you might get from a mature white Burgundy. Dry, with ripe fruit on the palate - lengthy finish. This is a real treat on a Monday afternoon ;^)
From 375.
February 27, 2021 - Dark golden color, turning to amber.
On the nose a whiff of honey and some fyrn.
Wonderfully developed, mineral, harmonious with feel of "pebbles" on the tongue and good presence at the middle palate (Len Evans, are you listening in??)There is a sweetness to the wine that suggests some botrytis being present when it was harvested. Adds another layer to this multi-facetted wine.
Fully ripe and close to perfection in a slightly austere way.. Went well with halibut, wilted spinach on a bed of rice.
July 5, 2020 - Sadly my last bottle. This blew us away, mineral, petrol with pure energy and fruity. So fresh. Simply legendary.
