  January 11, 2013 - Had a taste far from home, and likely can't get this in Manitoba. An unexpected style for a Zin, but was nice and oddly intriguing. Nose was hair on the port-like side, some dark stewed berries and other fruit. Perhaps a hint of smoke. Palate is medium bodied, smooth quality with some heat/light spice. The fruit is on tart side and again is darker, baked pie like in quality, without being sweet. The finish fades fairly fast on palate, and doesn't get anymore complex, but nice enough. Is good match on its own, and with variety of more complex food.
  
  Of note, sampled this in a warm climate, likely not stored well, may have accelerated aging process, but I would buy more of this vintage. Price is reasonable for a try.
