January 11, 2013 - Had a taste far from home, and likely can't get this in Manitoba. An unexpected style for a Zin, but was nice and oddly intriguing. Nose was hair on the port-like side, some dark stewed berries and other fruit. Perhaps a hint of smoke. Palate is medium bodied, smooth quality with some heat/light spice. The fruit is on tart side and again is darker, baked pie like in quality, without being sweet. The finish fades fairly fast on palate, and doesn't get anymore complex, but nice enough. Is good match on its own, and with variety of more complex food.
Of note, sampled this in a warm climate, likely not stored well, may have accelerated aging process, but I would buy more of this vintage. Price is reasonable for a try.
August 22, 2012 - Fine zin, weak nose, not as flavorful as other zins on the market in similar ranges.
July 22, 2012 - Very good. Smooth and great with smoked ribs. Not a strong nose.
July 7, 2012 - - Purple color with medium forming legs and aromas of blackberry and raspberry. It's unbalanced and has flavours of blackberry, raspberry and black pepper with a light/medium body. Linear texture with a short finish.
May 12, 2012 - Less jammy than Sin Zin and no pepper. Had a nice cherry taste with maybe a little vanilla? This has less pop in taste that the Sin Zin but was on sale for 9.99. For that price it was a great little wine for sitting on the deck with my girl friends- nothing fancy or spectacular, but very good nonetheless.
April 19, 2012 - A nose of cherry and spice, dark garnet in color. A medium to full bodied Zin, with cherries, plums, cinnamon, and smoky spice, a good QPR.
March 7, 2012 - Ok wine. Decanted. Improved over 3 hours. On sale for $9. Will buy more and save for next Xmas.
January 29, 2012 - clear red with hints of purple in the color. berry, blackberry, floral, spicy, pepper, smoke, on the nose. short finish.
