July 12, 2016 - Beautiful and elegant, but not hugely expressive right now with a muted nose and tightness on the palate. I will leave my remaining bottles for a few more years at least.

November 25, 2015 - More restrained than last time, chalky brightness and rich fruit - delicious

November 4, 2015 - Substantial, dense, lots of tannin, but somehow it stays glossy smooth, with piercing mulberry fruit, a hint of funk - fantastic

August 20, 2015 - This is an earlier drinking wine that some of Baudry's other single vineyard wines. It's characterful, herbal and spicy.

The acidity seems unbalanced though to me, tart, something that Loire reds often seem to suffer, makes a ripe wine somehow seem less consequential.

June 18, 2015 - Tasted quite funky and herbal after quite a more mainstream, big Tuscan IGT, so this didn't really get to show its virtues this time.

(Bernard Baudry Chinon Clos Guillot) A clay and limestone terroir. This has been in barrel for one month. A fabulous Chinon nose, all limestone and black fruits, fresh and defined. And on the palate, there is a lovely supple presence to the fruit which covers a crunchy layer of firm, tannins and also a very fresh and forceful layer of crisp acidity. There is a lot going on here, but it all comes together in a supple, polished midpalate presence before the tannins come out at the finish. This is a well-structured composition. It should be lovely.
