Community Tasting Notes 6

May 7, 2020 - Tasting blind during a Zoom tasting. Wonderfully stemmy nose with red fruit, cured meat, sous-bois. The palate is structured with good freshness. A bit Dujac style. Really nice. Loved it.

November 5, 2017 - During a La Paulée Lunch, so only brief impressions. Another oxidative wine that probably suffered from heat damage somewhere between France and Singapore. Quite a lot of these wines at today's la Paulee lunch. Glad I buy and store my wines in Europe.

October 1, 2013 - Stunning. But Mebbe wait 5 years. Long decant helps.

September 22, 2013 - Baywolf 38th Anniversary (Double Duck) Dinner (Baywolf Restaurant, Oakland, California): Light ruby, maybe even a shade more advanced than the '93 Ampeau. Bigger and more of an oak base than that wine. Pretty regal, fully mature aromas with the typical cooler, spearmint notes of the year. Less distinguished in the mouth-good acidity but lacking intensity and concentration. All in all, good but not quite at the hallowed level of this Flagey Grand Cru.
