June 12, 2018 - BIG C-noir that's finally starting to fade. Not quite cola cola but definitely coming from that general direction..... Dark fruits on the nose, almost red-black color (at 9 years, impressive) spicy nose, dark palate. Acids and boysenberries on the finish. Nice. BIG, but lacked any subtly or grace. Just a big bad boy bruiser that's getting a little tired. Paired well with burgers and steak.

Still, this bottle fared better than my last (87) from three years ago as the cola cola has begun to leave the scene.

December 25, 2017 - Lightish color; RT, open one hour. Beautiful nose with cherry and earth. Light-medium weight, very smooth, hint of tannin, great progression in mouth. Black cherry and bark on palate, hint of mineral/earth.

August 8, 2017 - Showing a bit of age now. Fruit is still there but may have peaked.

November 21, 2016 - Much more evolved than I recollect from my prior bottle back in August 2013. Made in a bigger, more masculine style, and far different from the lighter more feminine Oregon Pinots, or the lighter much more complex Burgundies. The flavor profile is similar to the prior bottle: black, wild raspberry, strawberry preserves, and jellied cranberry. More noticeable this time is the very prevalent earthy and herbal components which add some complexity. Shows some declining acidity, but maintains a solid finish. The big, slightly jammy fruit and medium texture worked very well with Orange Stir Fried Chicken and vegetables.

July 5, 2015 - A little chick-a-cherry cola for my tastes, this medium bodied, ripe, almost sweet, C-noir was about what you would expect from someone who appreciated a cut of acidity and a fine fine price to offer it to his buying public (me).

Still it doesn't rise above it's California roots. If you're looking for something quasi Oregon, OK (maybe...), but French? lol, lol. Nope. Keep looking.
