    February 18, 2021 - National Wine Day!

February 29, 2020 - Fruit forward with some bitterness though not unpleasant at all. A food wine to be sure. Nine years of age showing well. Strong graphite nose wrapping black berries and currants. Silky and slightly tart berry flavors. I fee this needs something unctuous to cut through. Drinking well

January 29, 2020 - Dtank over two days, aerated by the glass and pumped overnight. Second day much better. Initial taste had strong bitter and notes which faded after about 30 minutes open. Lots of acidity and red fruit components. Medium concentration. Biggest take aways are medium body, acid, sour red fruit.

August 8, 2019 - Consumed this bottle of 2-3 days.
Very nice, full bodied red, showing off plum, black cherry and pomegranate, with cinnamon and licorice notes.
Finely grained tannins, moderating acidity, and a long-ish finish.
    Drink now through 2022+.

December 11, 2018 - Note after a couple of days open. This was a fine wine, nicely detailed with complex red and black cherry and berry notes on the nose. Nicely balanced as well, good juicy acidty, pretty mild tannins, light currant and plum fruit. Long finish. Like it, but glad I did not buy this in most vintages, other Betz wines are way more profound.

(Betz Family Winery Besoleil Red Wine Columbia Valley) Dark in color. An aromatically compelling wine perfumed with Herbes de Provence, strawberry, sweet plums, and a kiss of vanilla. The palate has fresh, pure, restrained red fruit flavors with depth and intensity and a sensuous mouthfeel. 65% Grenache, 18% Mourvèdre, 11% Cinsault, and 6% Syrah. Olsen, Ciel du Cheval, Upland and Boushey vineyards. 14.6% alcohol.
