December 25, 2023 - electrifying, so long, complex, still early, left me speechless

August 13, 2023 - Tasted blind, this wine had a deep yellow center and clear rims. The medium+ intensity nose put forth citrus, honey, white stone, and cooked apples.

In the mouth, this wine was ripe with great acidity and length. It seemed to stay strong, and maybe improve, with many hours of air.

This seems to be in the early part if its drinking zone. Enjoy! (95-96)

June 17, 2023 - Oysters, Shabu Shabu, Chablis, and Burgundy (San Francisco): Medium yellow. A bit of sulfur, oyster shell, and broth. Middle weight but incredible palate presence and unstoppable penetration. It tastes like more of a primordial mix than the product of a grape with its ringing acidity rather than fruit leading the way. Great wine underscoring the fact that we haven't seen this kind of old style, pure, classic Chablis vintage since 1996. It made an outstanding 2014 Droin Valmur tasted alongside it seem positively soft by comparison. It's been almost exactly 10 years since I last tasted the '96 Clos, and inexplicably, brilliant bottles such as this one somehow seem frozen in time.

July 16, 2021 - 11th of 12, opened 20 minutes, cork half soaked, perfect level, as last bottle noted in March 19, just starting to show fade accentuating acidity, downside from here. F+ (18).

January 26, 2021 - The nose is heady on citrus and wet stone. A small herbaceous aspect will emerge over the aeration.

On the palate, the attack is full-bodied. The substance is dense, with a nice "fat" and just the right amount of tension to give wine to a very convincing ensemble. The very intense finish on the truffle with a big length impressed me a lot, I cannot say if it is usual on Chablis.

    it was an excellent bottle!

April 3, 2020 - Lemon curd and white flowers. Very non-chablis like on the palate with rounded yellow fruit and balanced acidity. It fleshed out more dried tropical extract with time in the glass. Long and harmonious. Drinking well.

October 10, 2019 - Light yellow gold. Lemon curd aromatics. Fully resolved, really expands on palate.

March 19, 2019 - 9th of 12 pnp, perfect cork and level, little changed from last bottle in Feb 16, notable salinity and hint of herby smoke more apparent, tad over acidic (like most 96s) as without the body/materiel to bring it back to perfect balance, so nice components but well behind the 95, 99, 00 (when not poxed), 02 and 04 on last drinking, should be good for 5 years at least. F+ (18).

January 26, 2019 - During a Paulee dinner so only brief impressions. Another top white wine, very complex with a kaleidoscope of aromas, herbs, corn, cut hay. A great showing and probably the best Chablis I ever had. It is amazing how Raveneau and Dauvissat make great Chablis that when properly aged have such complex aromas.
