June 26, 2016 - H.I.Jones 73rd Birthday at Pokai Parera - Day 3 (Ekatahuna, New Zealand): Powerful, intense and structured, with a classy austere aspect that adds brilliant definition. On the nose, wild black cherry, granite and earth. In the mouth, tight, concentrated and linear. Fabulous fruit quality, still a baby, but there is some development. This is benchmark burgundy, for me - a classic rendition of Chambertin in a "masculine' style.

March 28, 2015 - Still dark and primary looking. Feel that it was going through a closed and/or difficult patch right now. Had an odd prick of gas in the wine- perhaps I should have put it through the blender to help it de-gas! Touch of game, t&a, leather and spicy plum and raspberry fruit. It improved in the glass aromatically but i just didn't enjoy the mouthfeel. 7 more to go from the same case.
