Community Tasting Notes 56
August 19, 2016 - Decanted for sediment and then poured. Beautiful aromatic nose of plum and raspberry with earthiness. Dark dense color in the glass. Velvety smooth and mouth coating - no hard edges, very well integrated. Lingering finish. Would have benefited from a bit more time in the decanter as the second glass was more expressive both aromatically and on the palate. Just a lovely wine.

June 4, 2016 - More Bordeaux than most left banks made now. I would bet this would win a 'best of pauillac 1996' if entered. Really classic cedar box and lead pencil notes leaping from the glass with fruit in balance that supports, not overwhelms, the finish and nose. Spectacular.
January 23, 2016 - tasted blind from magnum.
nose - funky nose. mouth - rich , frunky fruit, soil&barnyard qualities here but in appropriate amounts. I have been presented this wine blinded on numerous occasions and I always guess Bordeaux. This time I had it pegged as a late 90s Cheval Blanc (as if I would even know what that tasted like).

January 12, 2016 - Impressive. Beautiful St. Emillion like effort. Complex bouquet of grilled meat, cassis and a hint of leather with a juicy ripe fruit and a great depth of flavor and a long finish. 2 points better than the '95 Monbousquet tasted during lunch

November 8, 2015 - Wow, this was outstanding! Too bad it was my last bottle. Had it with a bunch of other 10+ year old wines.
