Community Tasting Notes 3

April 10, 2015 - Musty, like old white Rhone that hasn't survived the journey. No discernable fruit of any kind. Asked my wife to taste it blind and she said - sherry, and not in any complimentary way. Is this a cork problem perhaps. Seems to be very slowly oxidising. Just bad wine making I think.

July 18, 2013 - Considering all the hype - very disappointing. Drunk from the list at the Chelsea Arts Club on my own so over, say an hour. It did open up over time but lacked any power and was flat, undefined and lacking in character of any kind let alone Riesling. More grapefruit and pineapple that the promised preserved lemons. Perhaps still too young but it didn't feel that way.

    August 8, 2011 - Coming from a plot of just 0.8ha. At a higher altitude of 350m south-east facing.
“More restrained nose but with a fantastic concentration of fruit. Rich palate with a fairly full bodied fruit character leading to a rounded delicate mouth-feel. An elegantly round wine with a superbly long finish. Drink 2012-2020+.”
