June 13, 2020 - A worry free 10 year old Pinot Noir with no sign of deterioration, drinking well now, and no need to drink up soon. Fine by itself and most all foods. Purple colored, just short of opaque. Aromatic cherry and pomegranate fruit, refreshing acidity and light tannin, nicely capped by a long finish.

September 5, 2019 - As much as I like the prior bottle of this vintage of the Rosella’s, this bottle did not measure up. While there is nothing wrong with the wine, it simply didn’t deliver as much pleasure as the prior bottle with all of its “cranberry, dark cherry, cloves, balsamic, and something herbal (in a good way; not at all green). Perhaps herbs de Provence or lavender.” This was large on the dark cherry and a touch of something herbal, but short on everything else. 14.9% alc. Perhaps it was the pairing. With roasted salmon under teriaki sauce and mushrooms; not the best pairing. Recommended.

May 23, 2019 - This vineyard designated is one of my least favorite of Brian’s line up. It simply doesn’t measure up to the focus and exuberance of Brian’s other Pinots ..... Until now. This is my first taste of Brian’s 2010 Rosella, and what I found is delicious. Very focused with cranberry, dark cherry, cloves, balsamic, and something herbal (in a good way; not at all green). Perhaps herbs de Provence or lavender. A delightful pour. Not at all alcoholic despite the 14.9% alc. The finish is predominantly cloves. With roasted pork loin with balsamic. 05.?.19. Recommended.

May 5, 2019 - A fine example of why the Santa Lucia Highlands is rightly famous for its Pinot Noirs. Opague with an inch pour. Well structured by acidity and tannin, smoothly textured, richly fruity, superbly food friendly, and very ageworthy. Eminently drinkable at 9 years old, with no deterioration from being kept opened and sipped for a week. Highly enjoyable any time for years more.

May 19, 2018 - I'm thinking I should have drunk this sooner. Alcohol was a little more prominent than I'd like. Overall, not as enjoyable as some other Loring's and other vintages of Rosella's in particular that I've enjoyed. Overall, if I'm up for something on the bigger side of Pinot and drinking Loring Pinot Noir, I'm thinking I want to enjoy a bit sooner than later, at least for my palate. Having said that, my guests quite enjoyed it. 87-88.
