February 23, 2022 - Bold yet refined and graceful. Dark fruits, fresh herbs, coffee. And interesting and intriguing blend. Complex and aging beautifully. Decanted 1 hour. Has the grit to age a bit longer. Enjoyed at the Oregon Grille in Hunt Valley MD.

March 31, 2020 - Pop and pour, and frankly it was fine that way. This wine manages to be a big steak wine without being cloying or annoying. There is a lot of fruit, a bit of tannin. The berry components are quite delicious. This is a satisfying wine that won't make you think much, it is simply soft and tasty and goes great with a steak.

May 23, 2016 - Wasn't expecting this. REALLY NICE. Soft, balanced, fruit but not overwhelming or sweet. Wonderful finish. This is a red wine that is perfect for just a nice night on the porch, enjoying the coming of summer, listening to birds, being with family. Recommended, if you can get it. This is very different than the huge DS pinot noirs. And if you can get it, enjoy.

October 15, 2015 - Too many wines for a Wednesday (Kevin's house): Decanted 3.5 hours, due to our leisurely pace of getting through the wines. This wine is big, with lots of chocolate, vanilla, floral. Something, perhaps the pinot noir, makes it seem soft and mellow. With time in glass, it actually becomes quite complex. However, there is vanilla on the nose, then vanilla on the initial taste. The vanilla dissappears during the mid-palate, but then on the finish, another big shot of vanilla. It's really too much vanilla, almost a flaw. Surprisingly, there are no significant oak characteristics besides the vanilla. Still, it was an impressive wine.
