April 16, 2024 - Served alongside a range of dessert wines, clearly a class above.

March 18, 2024 - Tasted vintage 2001 regularly since 8 years ago as it is clearly one of my all time favorites - every time I have tasted it, it is worth 98 to 98++. This time it was an experiment: Poured from a bottle which I coravined first time 6 years ago. Since then coravined 2 times further before today, last time 1½ years ago with only 1/3 left in the bottle. Despite that the bottle was still outstanding today. That is impressive but of course also influenced by the fact that this is a wine with both high acidity and high sugar level. Not quite at same level as I remember form "fresh bottles", but nevertheless outstanding. It would not be fair rating it officially on cellartracker, but I rated this coravine version 97. I can also reveal that 1½ years ago when I tasted the coaravined bottle last time it was not affected by the coravine (at that time the bottle was 2/3 full)

February 23, 2024 - Amazing. Nose was slightly less powerful than my last bottle but traded off a tiny bit of power for broad all-encompassing finesse. And the palate... ultra focused finesse (and acidity) with amazing palate-filling fruit, and a backing of caramel. Still at the start of its life. With a couple hours of air, spice and amaretto adding to the bouquet. Added a chemical note to the nose -- petrol like a riesling with another twist I can't pinpoint (but is enticing). Cotton candy finish.

Spectacular yet again. Easily 100 points.

February 18, 2024 - The is our first experience with Sauternes, and it was incredible. It had such a gorgeous nose of pineapple upside down cake and cinnamon spice. Velvety smooth on the palate. A truly perfectly balanced wine. We chilled this wine for an hour on ice, and it was amazing! We enjoyed this with 2 of our closest friends who have tasted many vintages. They agreed this might be the best they’d ever tasted. So happy we finally cracked this OWC of 6 bottles. So happy we have 5 more to enjoy over the years. What a beautiful occasion to try this wine from a 400+ year old vineyard.

February 17, 2024 - I am rating this very conservatively because it presents as very, very young. Linear yellow fruit, high acidity. Botrytis is hidden. From half bottles it is much more demonstrative.

(Château d'Yquem) From 375 - bright canary yellow color; big, tropical fruit, orange cream, coconut, lemon and creamy lime nose; rich, delicious, ripe lemon, lime and orange cream palate; long finish 96+ pts. (drinking remarkably well now, but with so much potential for additional complexity)

(Château d'Yquem) From 375 ml - orange honey nose; dense, lovely essence of brown sugar, but with less acid than I'd expect; long finish 94+ pts.

(Château d'Yquem) Lovely, big coconut and apricot nose; great, concentrated, solid, youthful, coconut and tropical fruit palate; long finish (80% Semillon, 20% Sauvignon Blanc)
