November 30, 2014 - similar to previous experience, lighter body - not obviously Right bank, but a nice old claret - drink up.

April 7, 2013 - Similar to previous notes. Lovely, expressive, showing subtlety and finesse. So elegant and refined.

March 5, 2013 - One of the most beautiful Bordeaux I've had in a while. So floral, with wonderful fruit, such captivating complexity and a persistent finish. This is an amazing reminder for me, if I ever needed one, of how well a classic, well aged Bordeaux can taste. The pedigree and class of this is so obvious. Perhaps '81 is undervalued, especially in the shadow of '82..my rating here is very conservative; am trying to keep my exuberance restrained...

October 6, 2010 - Well, god damn. This held up strong and brilliantly. Not a ton of fruit but oozing with complexity and elegance. Won't hold up much longer, but at least a couple more years.

December 26, 2008 - Bottle high shoulder, good condition, cork soaked nearly to top. Popped and decanted. Initial funk blew off in a few minutes. Soft Pomerol, tannins resolved. Nice nose of licorice, earth, mint etc. Held up reasonably well for an hour or so over dinner. Fully ready, drink up.
