November 22, 2014 - One of the best petite sirah you can buy. However, the 09 vintage is no their strongest. Lots of tannin, blueberry and blackberry. Let it decant for an extended time.

September 29, 2014 - Nice dry big red. Lots of tannins meant for a big red steak. Needs an hour plus of decanting.

September 3, 2014 - Opened to breathe for 45 min or so. Very closed on the nose, some mineral, herbs and alcohol. On the palate, very lush and fruity, black cherry and plum, gripping tannins, and oak. Decent heft, medium body. Easy drinking, not super complex or nuanced. In a good place right now.

Looking back on my note from Dec it seems like I've had a better "out of the bottle" experience now than I did 9 months ago. Not sure if the wine has improved or my mood with the late summer weather but for whatever reason this is showing better now, right after opening, than the bottle from last Dec.

May 31, 2014 - Smell: dark fruits, slight barnyard, slight alcohol. Taste: dark fruits, espresso, cocoa. Ample acidity. Firm & grippy tannins.
