July 18, 2014 - Deep ruby. More olive than I recall. Medium weight, tannic and backward today.

June 21, 2014 - Dark fruits and black pepper (reticent if any green pepper). Not too precise at the moment, but who knows under the tannin. The huge tannins were fairly fine and almost chalky. Just way too much tannin there to taste now. Time will tell. NR

June 20, 2014 - Even deep ruby. Pencil shavings, black olives. Light weight with an extra level of flesh. Poised, crisp black fruit, very fine but substantial tannins. You can get a good glimpse of this now, but it is beautifully balanced to last 10 to 20 years. Very impressive young Clos de l'Echo.

May 26, 2014 - A nice bottle of balanced wine. Drank over two evenings. Enjoyed it more the first with Prosciutto and cheese than the second evening with grilled chicken. Night #1 is felt balanced with nice tannins. Night #2 it came across as a little hot with alcohol.

May 9, 2014 - Massively structured purple wine. Not giving much on the nose but dense black bruits. Ripe, good structure with tannins in check. Impressive, dark wine.
