December 22, 2023 - Fragrant nose with earthy notes, red cherries, and violets that reminded me slightly of a nice Barolo. Good acidity on the palate with red berries and cherries, tannins that are slightly grippy, more earth, and underwood notes. Nice finish. This was really very good and kept getting better with air.

November 17, 2023 - 97 Trapet Chambertin - had very low expectations given a less than stellar vintage but once open it was alive and has the masculinity yes still lingering primary characteristics. Very long finish too which took me by surprise. Very extracted

October 31, 2017 - Casual Burgundy Dinner (Osteria Langhe - Chicago IL): Extremely ripe and slightly lacking acidity. A formula for a tired wine.

May 17, 2017 - (at Bern’s Steakhouse – Tampa) Wow – this was a real surprise. I have had some nice wines from the vintage but nothing that approaches the exotic complexity that this bottle showed. Hard to take your nose out of the glass. Perfect maturity – there is velvet (no hard edges); complexity (lots of layers of flavor) and depth (strong impression from start to finish. Wow. (95)
