October 28, 2016 - I just opened this and tasted it without air. Really amazing bones and enjoyable from the first sip, but clearly this needs time to show it's best. I'm sad that I didn't save this bottle for a night when I had more time to let it breathe. The tannins are very present, but not so firm as to be unapproachable... they just sit there on the finish as a friendly reminder that you should have left this in the cellar for a few more years.3 people found this helpful Comment
September 29, 2016 - Had over two days next to the 2010 Chaupin. Showed in that mild dumb phase in the fact that there were so many complexities to the wine but they are all still fighting to show themselves. Layers of chalk and gravel dust, raw meats, fresh dark berries and dates/fig/plums. A load of provincial herbs with a monster amount of anise/fennel/black licorice. Massive on the palate and an extended finish. Should be a epic wine in 10-15 yrs.2 people found this helpful Comment

September 27, 2016 - Decanted for two plus hours and drank over two days, alongside the same vintage Chaupin. Noticeably more reticent than the Chaupin, particularly on the nose that featured crushed hot rocks, black earth, pepper, rust, sanguinity, metallic ores, and hints of umami. The rustic, bracing, and densely packed palate imparted an impression of viscosity. Full bodied and weighty. The bouquet and palate were more open on the second day, the bouquet in particular showed similar notes to the Chaupin. Pepper, ores, and black earth we pronounced on the palate.
This highly appealing blend likely needs fifteen years to enter a mid drinking window. It is noticeably less approachable than the Chaupin and hints at what it could become. Recommending holding. Time should reveal a spectacular wine. 96-98.3 people found this helpful Comment

July 30, 2016 - A perfect score it is. At first sniff, this effort still leads to the cool efforts from Hermitage. Though the rich fruit and the overall complexity expose its true origin after a few minutes... To put it in a little more techincal phrasing, this effort reveals so much Syrah complexity I am just stunned. Despite being mostly Grenache, the expression of the Syrah component is just stunning. The first impression is abundance of white flowers and white pepper, but after a few minutes classical and luxurious dark fruit appears with perfect balance and elegance. The palate is totally clean, almost refreshing, shows an absolutely massive power, but it is also superbly kept together with a lot of promise for the future. Tannins are still harsh and expressive, yet soft and silky. This wine needs a good decant if served now. It is still very young... The finish just goes on and on, actually I can still remember the wine after several hours of finishing the bottle. I am totally blown away by the complexity shown tonight and I honestly still can only imagine what is to come. A tremendously good wine, which deserves all the merit it could ever get!6 people found this helpful Comment

May 21, 2016 - Full bodied, super young, super sweet and powerful. Raspberries, with a peacock of a ceylon tea finish....Great potential. HOLD2 people found this helpful Comment
