February 25, 2023 - Pristine cork, dark ruby color showing no bricking. Relatively youthful, ripe darker berries, showing very subtle secondary characteristics. Fruit is a bit baked and a touch overripe for my tastes now, but still quite good, especially given the age. These W-S wines seem to age quite slowly.

November 13, 2020 - Excellent wine from a so-so vintage. Well balanced. Purchased from WS at release and stored in a passive cellar.

September 22, 2018 - Ahh -- could age longer but v.g. now. PNP two days ago, and good, but better tonight with more air.

August 15, 2018 - Crimson in color. 13.8% ABV. Pretty nose of red fruits, cloves, earth and cherry cola. Medium body with medium acidity. Light and elegant. Cherries, baking spices, mushrooms and pomegranate on the palate. Medium length on the finish. An appellation wine showing well at 8 years of age. So much to like here as the least expensive wine in the Williams Selyem lineup. Drink over the next several years.

January 8, 2018 - Purchased on release and cellared at 51°. Candied, maraschino cherry nose, shrill finish. After reading the other reviews all I can say is to each his (or her) own. Difficult to drink. CA Pinot fans must find enjoyment in it. As an old world Pinot fan I find it deplorable.

September 4, 2017 - Agree with the previous reviewer that most of the scores/notes are not representative of the wine. While this is not necessarily an elite production, it is made with a higher degree of finesse than the large majority of American pinots. Very slight bricking at the rim; the wine opens up with some intense sweet berry fruits with a touch of cedar. The flavours, while well integrated, are still fairly one sided however as tannins were pretty absent. Nice finish with unmistakable pinot elements of strawberry and cassis. Drank over an hour and the wine evolved nicely in the glass, suggesting it has a good 5+ yrs aread of it. A great entry level wine from a very well regarded producer.
