April 9, 2022 - Strikingly youthful still. All Ridge wines age beautifully and this is bo exception. Will go on (and on).

October 4, 2015 - Still very alive. I was surprised at how little sediment was present, even after 25 hours of the bottle vertical. Strong tannins, lots of fruit and pepper. Drank at pop and pour, it continued to open some for the next 1.5 hours in a decanter, while it lasted.

August 4, 2013 - See Rieslingfan's note. Dead on. Drinking window: 2025-well past me.

August 4, 2013 - Was I surprised that this was still dark purple, dense, brambly and tannic? No I was not. That's pretty much what it was - a Petite Sirah from Ridge being true to its nature. Certainly drinkable now, and a proper companion to grilled foods on a cool summer evening. Is it going anywhere soon? Nope. It's going to sit there and glare at people for a good 15 years or more. It will never be the '71 or '74, but it is what it is supposed to be, and that's fine with me.

January 16, 2010 - Very surprising. Totally different wine than those below. This is not young, but plenty of life. Vibrant fruit, acid, tannins. Just a slight dark red bricking color. Very interesting nose. Bit of moldy closet, mushrooms in a bag, and I almost want to sat, throw up...? Yes. But it smells kinda nice.

Bit dry leather, tart tight, acid on the attack, then a big big wave of dried red and blue fruit, then a drying tannin scrape, leather, then a slightly sweet wine tart cherry finish. Very interesting wine.
