February 9, 2021 - Nose: B++/A- Palate: B++
December 4, 2018 - Medium light red with clear edges. Nice slightly ripe nose, red cherry, spice, earth and some developing burgundy funk. Delicious slightly ripe earthy cherry and shitake flavours and a long dry finish.
Could still develop, not at all roasted or cooked like some 03s can be. I have enjoyed a few wines from Boisset. All blind, so no prejudice.
October 29, 2015 - Medicinal. Menthol. Spice. Black tea. Earthy. Masculine and very gevrey. Probably past it's prime. Only by a few teats though. Good wine for the price and the hot vintage.
July 21, 2013 - Euro-Themed Lunch - Burgundy (Donato Enoteca, Redwood City, CA): Excellent fruity nose, some heat (B++/A-). Excellent palate (B+/B++)
April 14, 2013 - Showed very well. Last couple of a sixteen bottle dinner party.
April 2, 2013 - Fairly dark color. Nice nose with cherries, mushrooms, some sweetness, some spices (A-). Palate is smooth and similar to the nose (B++). This is very tasty and a good QPR at $40. Seems to have room to grow and potential for 10 years. 91+ pts.
March 15, 2013 - Alvin's Lunch - March 2013 (Le Gavroche): Tasted blind – Riper pinot nose that lead me to guess Burgundy but I felt this could also be from Oregon. Sweeter dark strawberry and cherry flavours on the palate with medium acidity and round finish. Once I knew it was an ’03, I went to Volnay or Chambolle as there was a hint of elegance (Gevrey did cross my mind but the profile didn’t seem to fit). Compared to some of the 03s I've had this has a hint of elegance that was very nice. Drink or hold. Excellent.
November 22, 2012 - Popped and poured. Needed about 30 minutes to open up. Consistent with previous TN. Lovely cherry fruit with a hint of sweetness. Great balance of fruit and minerality and good acidity as well. Really good and drinking well at this time. Great value at $40.
May 18, 2012 - CT Offline IV--Hill Country Edition; 5/18/2012-5/19/2012 (Austin / Texas Hill Country / Castleman Ranch): Really full of perfume on the nose. Very, very smooth and lovely on the palate. A bit of spice, and some lovely blueberry and blackberry on the palate. Just a great bottle of burgundy. Great wine.
May 18, 2012 - CT Texas IV - Friday Night Dinner (Hudson on the Bend, Austin, TX): WIML91
Tasted non blind at a wine dinner. Opened and served immediately.
Garnet color in the glass, fairly clear looking. Nose of potpourri, leather, dried herbs and Kirsch. Flavors of black berries, Bing cherries and a hint of raspberries. Medium to bright acidity, medium tannins, medium to full bodied. Drink or hold.
