July 19, 2014 - Chablis, Dom. Laurent, Suduiraut, Madeira (John V.'s): Iced tea in color. The nose has a lot of VA at first, but it blows off. Toffee and oranges. On the palate, this is dry. More toffee and oranges. More complexity, but not as smooth. It is still an awesome wine.

    December 29, 2013 - Color: Dark Amber
Smell: Brown sugar, black olive tepenad, clove, black pepper, prune, raw cacao, taragon, and an almost caramel maciado, earthy, freshly polished wooden pews, dried cherry,
Taste: pickle brine, clove, oolong tea, orange/citrus tea, prune and anise
Overall: Classic/Epic wine. High Acid++, med body, medium+ tannin, and a long long finsh.

September 12, 2013 - Green olive, caramel, raison, nutty with minerality and a chocolate note to it. Unbelievable length, this is beautifully balanced with just some light sweetness remnants. Very good complexity initially, once it has time to breath in the glass, it takes on a whole new dimension. Brilliant.

December 31, 2012 - Deep brown color. Lifted nose with dried nuts, figs, and old wood. Full bodied, a little sharp and medium sweet. Long finish.

November 7, 2012 - Big boned Madeira with boatloads of dark spice and woody flavors. Deeply concentrated and intense but clearly years from peak drinking. Reminder: Check back in 2037!
