March 25, 2014 - Another wow fragrance, another stunning Lafleur. Ripe dark fruits, cedar, dark chocolate and exotic spicy notes coming together into a lovely scent, powerful and long on the palate, though a little softer texturally and more open-knit than the '98.

December 12, 2013 - A really nice wine. Opened and decanted for 2 hours. Dark purple in color with no sign of maturity. Huge sweet cherry nose bursting from the glass. Very different than when last tried 4 years ago where I described the nose as a Summer garden. Delicious blended palate of cherry, charcoal, earth with some minerality. No tannin and a long finish.

January 31, 2013 - Quite a nice surprise for the vintage. Without decanting, the initial sip was a but dry, but with 30 minutes of air, plums, earth, oak, spice and olive notes began to emerge. With an hour of air, the medium bodied wine softened, taking on a fresh, plum, soft textured and cherry personality.

February 16, 2012 - 2011's Top 10 (Wine Route Savion): Opaque purple color. Special, different and complex. It was hard for me to define. Light-medium bodied soft tannins and predominant acidity(651$)

October 21, 2011 - Took almost 3 hours to really open up, definitely need more time in the cellar, enjoyable now if you have enough time to decant.
Nose of black fruit and mnerals but little floral. Quite tannic at first and getting better into the evening.
Did not finnish, left some for tmw.

(Lafleur) was stunning wine, another testament to great producers making great wines every year. This is a tremendous value in the context of other vintages of Lafleur. Deep and brooding fruit revealed classic plum, chocolate and mineral, not over the top and not shy either. In the mouth, the wine was filling and round, tasty and similar in its flavor profile to its aromas. This turned more than a few mouths at the event
