February 4, 2024 - Not decanted, in Grassl 1855 stems. Were these wines made from stone, because they aren’t moving at all? Still so youthful. Expansive nose of rhubarb, boysenberry, licorice, and white pepper. Very rich on the palate and, while there are no tannins, the fruit density still indicates a LONG life. Absolutely delicious. I liked it on its own every bit as much as with burgers tonight.

October 14, 2023 - Rich and ripe black fruits with sweet spice and faint liqueur, but able to maintain its balance. Well spiced and wonderfully vibrant for its age, this is at a great place right now.

September 16, 2023 - Lovely Syrah made by Maggie Harrison who learnt her craft under the auspices of Manfred Krankl at Sine Qua Non. Deep opaque garnet colour. Medium+ intensity aroma of cherries, plums, incense, black pepper, olives, violet, smoky and cured meat hints. Medium+ body, elegant and rich with smooth texture, intertwined smoky and floral plumy and boysenberry flavours, dried herb touches, medium acidity and medium velvety extra fine tannins.

August 27, 2023 - Same notes as Feb 2023. PnP. Rich, full bodied, smooth tannins, good fruit. It was better 5 years ago but still holding up.

July 25, 2023 - Big fan of Maggie Harrison and these Lillian wines. Wish she was still making the blue label version. It saw a bit more oak I believe and is a noticeable standout versus the other labeled Syrahs. These will age a LONG time. Beautiful ruby purple color. Aromas of blackberry, bacon fat, savory herbs, stone and a hint of garrigue. This is in a wonderful drinking window right now.
