January 11, 2017 - Delicate and proper fino. Not much flor character, but notes of blanched almond, ripe apple, and - yes - matchsticks, are carried on a trim, light frame.

December 12, 2016 - Very nice fino. Nuts and bruised apples on nose. Oxidative element is not to overpowering.

March 1, 2014 - As good a fino as you can find - pure dry saline freshness, from a wine with a high average age the nose is discreet but the intensity in the mouth is a pleasure

November 27, 2013 - Tasting Hidalgo at its best (Enoteca Barolo - Madrid): Brilliant golden colour.
Still very young with aromas of matches, glue and yeast.
On the palate fresh and light in style. Perfect for what it was born, to pair tapas.
    Don't seek complexity here.

    Color oro brillante.
Todavía muy joven con aromas a cerilla a pegamento y levadura. Fresco y ligero en boca. Ideal para lo que ha nacido, acompañar tapas. No busques complejidad aquí

March 23, 2013 - Best bottle of this I've had. Brilliant nose, very classic and clean/fresh. The palate is equally clean and fresh, and very, very dry, full-flavored, more body than the typical commercial stuff, and greater length. I used to think of this wine as a bit "flabby" for a fino, if a fino could be that, but this bottle is awesome. Still, it's the bodega's basic wine and certainly it doesn't have the concentration, length, complexity, or sheer magic of La Panesa, but it doesn't need to. This is archetypal everyday fino.

August 6, 2012 - Not as complex as some Finos, but this is probably a little younger than those also. This is just delicious wine with yeasty and savory tones, bright energy to it and a lingering finish. An excellent value in the current NYC Fino market too at $14 for a 750.
