June 23, 2013 - Served this wine with grilled lamb chops. A nice food pairing. Not the most complex of wines, but fruit forward and fun.

March 20, 2013 - Bordeauxesque as previously noted. Very enjoyable.

March 13, 2013 - Smoky dark berry and plum scents, with leather, spice, and earth. Dark chocolate and French roast flavors. Way more wood and spice on the palate than fruit, but that’s not a bad thing as its very well made. The coffee is a bit overwhelming but I like it.

March 5, 2013 - I really enjoyed this wine but some might not like it as it is a bit unusual. Decanted about 15 min. Grapey nose with some oak and tree sap. The palate is really unusual for merlot. Black plum fruit, almost raisony like a port wine with some gripping oak and alcohol on the finish. There's definitely some of that dirty WA terrior. Not too much unlike a bordeaux right bank but with more gripping oak. I dont think this is overly oaked like a napa cab but its oak definitely has some teeth. If you like wine with some earth and dirt you might go for this. A funky wine, in a good way. This is the wine Slash from Guns and Roses would drink.
