July 8, 2023 - This was drinking better than my last bottle 6 years ago. (not well reflected in my point rating) Open from the start. Flavors of black fruit, cherry, licorice, cedar. Lacking complexity. Mild tannins on a light, weak midpalate into the finish. No more bottles to see if this evolves any more.
December 25, 2022 - I don't think 2007 was all that great a year in Bordeaux. It appears the fruit did not ripen fully in this well-aged and decanted Saint Emilion Grand Cru. It did improve somewhat after a long decant, but never came into the quality range of Bordeaux's from, for example, 2009 and 2010 we have sampled.
June 2, 2019 - PnP, finished bottle in about an hour or so. Smokey. Bacon fat. Earthy. Very muted fruit. Good but I agree better with food.
July 28, 2018 - Lite and smooth, some acid, subtle
April 29, 2018 - Ready to go now. Silky. Traditional. Solid but nothing exceptional.
February 19, 2017 - Tasted over 3 hours from a decanter. This was tight at first, opening up with time and air. Flavors of raspberry, black fruit, licorice, cedar. The tannins softened with time, but remained austere on the finish. Better with food.
October 30, 2016 - - Garnet color with slow forming legs and aromas of raspberry, cedar, dusty and licorice anise. It's balanced and has flavours of black pepper, black currant and cherry with a medium/full body. Round texture with a long finish - Decanted 3 1/2 hours. New book nose. Still young, can cellar for more time.
October 22, 2015 - very good really liked it after it had a chance to breath... got better as it sat...
August 29, 2015 - PnP. Dark fruit, graphite, spices. Will decant next time.
February 15, 2015 - Wow, bought 6 in 2011, and slowly trying. Now coming into perfection. Great round cherry fruit, soft tannins, long finish with great balance. Will have final bottle next year, great tasting experience.
