January 11, 2016 - This bottle showed much like earlier bottles. Plush and international in style yet unmistakenly Italian. We both enjoyed it.

May 15, 2014 - A little alcohol on the nose. Very dry, with tart but plush black fruits, some licorice and tar. Soft on the palate. Quite a bit of acidity. We both liked it but I don't think I'll purchase again.

March 27, 2013 - Similar impressions as with the last bottles. Very good barbera but it's more of a food wine than a quaffer due to the high acidity.

January 15, 2013 - Popped and poured with a pizza. Pretty tight initially, with dark fruits, a little tar and hints of licorice. There is nice depth to the wine but it needs some time in decanter to show it's best. I'm looking forward to trying the last half of the bottle tonight.

January 1, 2013 - This was one of those rare wines for me that taste better on the second day. I didn't get to pay much attention to it last night but today it is delicious. Dark fruits, tar, licorice, light fine tannins and a long finish. Modern in style. I look forward to opening another.

October 11, 2012 - Quite young. Very dark fruits, smoked meats, a serious wine. Will let age or decant longer next time.

January 25, 2012 - quick tasting @ l'Insieme Tour 2012: A coffee nose here; smooth and soft palate, red berry and plum fruit, lots of coffee flavors, gentle oak, fine tannins. good but seems slightly fake to me. Others liked it much more than I did. - 88 points
