January 8, 2023 - Coming out of a low phase and starting to show where it is headed. I like this depth and believe it will continue to evolve.

May 5, 2020 - A little indistinct at this point. I would not have guessed this to be 100% PV. Not as enjoyable as when tasting at the winery years ago.

February 29, 2020 - Yes, "slightly corked" describes this wine perfectly. Kept trying, but it did not improve.

July 28, 2019 - PnP. Very intriguing and savory at first -- rustic notes that I sometimes associate with a Bdx Cab Franc. This quickly become a bit pruney, Still a pretty dark and bright color. There is some nice depth here, some white pepper and brown spices dancing around, but I can't thinking that blind I would find this too reductive. Perhaps this will improve. I suspect it will last a bit, but not sure if it will get better over time or not.

April 14, 2017 - P&P. Drinking really well right now! Big black cherry fruit, notes of barrel and tobacco, along with hints of vanilla and mocha. This paired perfectly with our "Juicy Lucy Burgers" from Hello Fresh. Drink now - 2020+.

April 12, 2017 - Inky black in color. Cassis, floral and pencil shaving notes on the nose. Some funk on the palate with blueberry tartness and a clear acid with well integrated tannins showing as it opens on the palate. Still pretty dense. Finish starts intense and the tightens with a dry raisin and tannin note.

August 6, 2016 - Nearly opaque dark Ruby bordering on purple. Nose is subdued, dust and black cherry. Fruit is upfront and consists of strawberries and cherry vicks cough drops. Tannins are fine but weaker than I expect. Not flabby but close. Shortish finish. May be past its prime?? The last bottle I recall being much better (couple years ago). Still tasty and of good quality but...

February 9, 2016 - I'm a fan of Petit Verdot, just not at this level of ripeness. Tannins, graphite and tar dominate the palate for me. The wine has good balance but I think I prefer the savory leaner styles. This would pair best with pepper steak, Korean BBQ or rich beef Stir-Fry.

    August 24, 2015 - Pretty fruit friendly.

Complex nose of cherries/kirsch, mint, brown spices, and other things I cant quite place. This is quite intriguing.

A bit of dry tannin on the edges – lovely core of red fruits – dark cherry with a hint of black licorice, then some complex flavors in the finish. Lots of life here. Lots of power. This will last for at least a decade (note I like my wine with some age on it – those of you who like young powerful wines would probably enjoy this now)

Update: Kept between 1/3 and ½ in the bottle a few days at room temperature, then in the fridge for maybe 3-4 days. Afterwards this was still excellent. More depth and complexity than earlier – the fruit is tamed giving way to some nice savory elements. I think this will score much higher for me in 5-7 years.
